The soapi story
Who are we?
Our Soapi story begins with something very ordinary: using soap. A suitable holder for optimal use was lacking, and so the idea for the object that would soon become Soapi was born.
We are Emilia and Karli, and together we founded Soapi GmbH at the beginning of 2023. With Soapi, our first product, we wanted to bring two things together: recycled material and a design you actually want on your bathroom wall.

Small Soapi, with a big impact
With our Soapi, the recipe is no secret. The housing is injection-moulded from recycled plastic granulate that we source from Denmark. Our supplier makes this granulate from discarded fishing nets, ropes and marine plastic waste. Depending on the colouring, the share of recycled nets and ropes is around 90%. The Soapi is moulded in Berlin, where the colour pigment is added, and assembled in our own office.
The magnet, the adhesive pad and the sticker are not recycled material. And the bottle cap is not recycled, it is reused: you press it into the bar, and once the bar is used up you move it to the next one.
Its clever design makes it incredibly easy to use and reliably and durably holds your soaps and solid shampoos. It also extends the lifespan of your soap, as it no longer needs to sit in a wet soap dish. This way, nothing is left to chance, and switching to solid soaps and shampoos is simple again.
Impact. Why Soapi?
Magnetic soap holders aren't anything new? Did your grandma have one of those?
She was right: the system is practical, because the soap dries off all around. Nevertheless, hardly anyone owns such magnetic soap holders because they are considered old-fashioned, unattractive, or have simply been forgotten.
Soapi is an upgrade for this system!
It combines recycled material with a simple design and is incredibly practical. And if you switch from liquid soap to bar soap, you no longer need plastic bottles for it, because shampoo and soap now simply hang on the wall or in the shower.
We buy up discarded nets and ropes instead of using new plastic. How much plastic that adds up to in the end depends on how consistently you switch to solid soap, so we do not put a figure on it.
From net to bathroom
- Discarded nets are being bought up.
- The nets are converted into plastic granules in Denmark.
- In Berlin, the granules are poured into Soapi molds.
- The Soapis are assembled at our HQ.
- Soapi hangs in your bathroom and the soap dries freely.
