Frequently asked questions about Soapi
The Soapi 1x1
The best preparation is to clean the wall with water and then dry it with toilet paper. Some cleaning agents leave a greasy residue, which is not ideal. Press the Soapi firmly and evenly against the wall to ensure no liquid can get behind it.
Stainless steel, tiles, glass and other smooth surfaces are no problem – the Soapi adhesive strip adheres reliably to anything that is smooth and flat.
Suitable materials include, for example, tiles, glass, stainless steel, smooth stone, mirrors, acrylic, polypropylene, concrete, wood, normal ceramics and other materials typically found in bathrooms or kitchens.
Important: Surfaces with special sealing, such as ceramic with lotus effect coating, are not suitable, as nothing will adhere to them permanently.
Soapi also adheres to smooth, painted or plastered walls – however, adhesive residue may remain after removal that cannot be removed without damaging the paint.
Yes, the Soapi sticker is completely waterproof.
If the sticker is fresh from the mail or your bathroom isn't heated, you should wait before installing it. Both the wall and the sticker should be at room temperature or warmer. If this isn't the case, you can use a hairdryer to help.

The maximum weight is 250 g, depending on the shape. That's quite a lot for soap. Almost all commercially available soaps and solid shampoos weigh between 80 g and 150 g.
Yes, bottle caps are manufactured the same way all over the world. The thickness of the metal varies between 0.2 and 0.22 mm depending on the manufacturer, but this has no effect on the attraction/adhesion with the magnet. Your bottle cap shouldn't be too bent. The less damaged, the better. Also, an unscratched coating protects against rust.
If you wet your hands, turn off the water, and then use soap, the lather will stay on the soap and be slowly absorbed. Whether the soap actually drips, however, depends on how you use it. Turning off the tap while you're lathering your hands also saves water.
If installed correctly, the foam backing adhesive pad will last a very long time. It should not be applied to surfaces with a water-repellent coating, or to rough or uneven surfaces.
The fishing nets used are cleaned and shredded by a specialized company in Denmark. Due to prolonged exposure to salt water and sunlight, the material changes and becomes porous. To make it reusable, a 2% stabilizer must be added. Once the material arrives at our facility, we also add color pigments. Depending on the color, the recycled content ranges from approximately 90% to 97%. We do not want to produce any material containing less than approximately 90% recycled material. Since the natural colors of the fishing nets are rather unattractive, they are dyed to suit any bathroom or kitchen.
In short, yes. Soaps can vary greatly. Aleppo olive oil soaps are very hard and need to soak longer. Solid shampoos can sometimes be porous; here, too, a little moisture helps. Depending on the consistency of the soap or shampoo, a little experimentation can help. We had no problems with 90% of the products we tested.
The bottle cap
We always recommend using the freshest and highest-quality soap possible. This is good for your skin and makes using the bottle cap easier. If your soap is very hard, wet it and let it sit for half an hour. This will soften it slightly, making it easier and cleaner to press the bottle cap into the soap. If the soap is still too hard, repeat the process until it's soft enough. Once the bottle cap is halfway into the soap, it's important to seal it. Simply press the soap around the bottle cap with your finger and smooth it out so that there are no gaps and the bottle cap is firmly in place. Ideally, let the soap dry completely. This will ensure the bottle cap is firmly in place and stays put until the very last bar.
Old or pressed soaps that are very hard can become porous and break.
If your soap is very hard, you can soak it a little so that the bottle cap goes in more easily and cleanly.
Wet the silk and leave it wet for an hour. It is very important to wet the soap again around the bottle cap and press it down slightly.
Fortunately, the soap shrinks evenly around the bottle cap, so the cap is almost completely enclosed by the soap, with its "edged" side embedded in the soap. When only a tiny bit of soap remains in the bottle cap, we recommend starting a new batch.
Incidentally, soaps can also be joined together. Simply press the small, old bar and the new bar together while wet and let them dry.
If the crown cap's lacquer is intact and it's properly pressed into the soap, neither air nor water can reach the unlacquered areas. This keeps the crown cap rust-free and looking good until the very end. The chemical composition of most soaps also prevents rust from forming on the crown cap. While we haven't tested all soaps, we found that no rust ever developed in our tests.
