The Soapi 1x1

  • Clean wall . The best and easiest preparation is to clean the wall with water and toilet paper. Some cleaning products leave a smear layer that can damage the adhesive. Once the soapy sticks, you can clean as usual. Press the soapi really firmly and all around the wall so that no liquid can get behind the soapi.
  • Surfaces . Stainless steel, tiles, glass and other smooth surfaces are no problem. The sticker sticks to anything that is smooth.

  • Bottle caps . We always recommend using the freshest, highest quality soap possible. This is good for your skin and makes the bottle cap easier to use. Old or pressed soaps that are very hard can become porous and break. If your soap is very hard, wet it once and leave it wet for a few hours. This makes it a little softer and the crown cap can be pressed into the soap easier and cleaner. In any case, it is very important to wet the soap after pressing it in and to press it a little around the crown cap.
  • Warm is better than cold. Our sticker is of high quality and adheres quickly and long-term to almost all surfaces. The only exception is cold. So if the sticker is fresh out of the mail or your bathroom isn't heated, you should wait to install it. Both the wall and the decal should be at room temperature or warmer. If this is not the case, you can help with a hairdryer.

How is the soapi installed correctly?

See instructions above.

How much is the shipping?

We charge €3.50 for shipping with Warenpost. From a purchase value of €29, shipping is automatically free for Germany. In EU countries from 39€.

How does return shipping work?

If you don't like the soapi, please contact us at info@thesoapi.com and we will process your return.

How much weight does the Soapi hold?

The maximum is 250g, depending on the shape. That's quite a lot for soaps. Almost all commercially available soaps and solid shampoos weigh between 80g and 150g.

Does the Soapi work with every bottle cap?

Yes, bottle caps are made the same way all over the world. Depending on the manufacturer, the sheet metal varies between 0.2-0.22 mm, but this has no influence on the adhesion function with the magnet. Your bottle cap shouldn't be bent too much. The more intact, the better. In addition, an unscratched paintwork protects against rust.

Which surfaces are suitable for the Soapi?

Anything smooth and flat works well. An exception is ceramics with a special seal or “lotus effect” coating to which nothing sticks for long.

We have successfully tested various materials over the long term, including tiles, glass, stainless steel, smooth stone, wood, concrete, mirrors, normal ceramics, acrylic, polypropylene and a few other materials that are rare in bathrooms and kitchens.

The Soapi also sticks to smooth, painted and plastered walls. However, soap residue is difficult to remove without removing the paint.

Can the soapi be relocated?

We consciously decided against suction cups for two reasons.

On the one hand, we and many of our customers had the problem that suction cups regularly suck air and fall down. This can be annoying in the long run, and we want to convince people to use solid shampoo without bothering them.

Secondly, we wanted to develop our product as sustainably as possible. We use old fishing nets, an existing material that is already there.

A material that already exists and is ideally used long-term is the most sustainable. The more fishing nets are recycled, the less damage they cause to the oceans. The Soapi should be placed like a toilet paper holder or a mirror - attached once and used for a long time. If it is necessary to remove the soapi due to moving or something similar, it can be lifted off with a spoon. The sticker comes off without leaving any residue, but cannot be used again. To ensure that things continue to be sustainable, you can order a new sticker from us for €1 and re-attach your soapi.

Does the soap drip when you hang it on the wall?

If you wet your hands, stop the water, and then use soap, the foam will stay on top of the soap and absorb slowly. Whether the soap actually drips depends on how you use it. It also saves water if you put it down while soaping your hands.

The bottle cap doesn't stay in the soap, what can I do?

Old or pressed soaps that are very hard can become porous and break. If your soap is very hard, you can soak it a little to make the bottle cap go in easier and cleaner. Simply leave it wet for a few hours. Then the crown cap goes into any soap, no matter how hard it is. In any case, it is very important to wet the soap again around the crown cap and press it down a little. We have found that everyone finds their own technique as every soap is slightly different.

Can the soapy fall off the wall?

If the installation is done correctly, the foam backing adhesive pad will last a very long time.

It is important that the surface is clean, smooth and at room temperature and that the foam is not applied to coated, rough or uneven surfaces.

Why does the color of my soap look different than in the photos?

Since we make the soaps from recycled fishing nets, there are variations in the raw material. Some colors are very stable and homogeneous, but others sometimes produce lighter, darker or patterned results.

Anything that deviates too much from the norm is only sold offline, for example in shops or markets. We generally don't throw away soaps just because they look different than expected. We think that's wrong. In our online shop we only sell soaps that come close to the color of the product photos.

What is the other 10% in plastic?

The fishing nets used are cleaned and shredded by a specialized company in Denmark. Due to long exposure to salt water and sun, the material changes and becomes porous. To be able to process it again, 2% stabilizer must be added. When we receive the material, we add color pigments. Depending on the color, the recycled content is between approx. 97% and approx. 90%. We do not want to produce any material that contains less than approximately 90% recycled material. Since the natural colors of the fishing nets are rather unattractive, we dye them so that they are liked and bought in the long term.

Does the bottle cap scratch your skin?

Fortunately, the soap shrinks evenly around the crown cap, so that the crown cap is enclosed in the soap until almost the end and its “edged” side is stuck in the soap. If there is only a tiny piece of soap left in the bottle cap, we recommend starting a new soap.

By the way, soaps can also be combined with each other. Simply connect the small old and new pieces together wet and let them dry.

Is the bottle cap rusting?

If the paint on the crown cap is intact and has been pressed correctly into the soap, neither air nor water will reach the unpainted areas. This means the crown cap remains rust-free and looks good until the end. The chemical composition of most soaps also ensures that rust does not form on the crown cap. We haven't tested all soaps, but we almost never see rust.

Does the Soapi also work with special soaps?

In short, yes. Soaps can be very different. Aleppo olive oil soaps are very hard and need to be soaked a bit. Solid shampoos can sometimes be porous, so a little moisture helps here too. Depending on the nature of the soap or shampoo, it may be necessary to experiment a bit. There were no problems with 90% of the products we tested.
